Melodifestivalen 2020 is heating up

After a long, really long wait, all 28 acts for Melodifestivalen were revealed today in Stockholm, Sweden. Old and fresh faces are once again fighting for the honour to represent Sweden at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam. I’m really happy to see that Mariette made another comeback, now all I hope is that she has a strong dark ballad just like she had in 2015.

Among the participants are also the former winners Robin Bengtsson and Anna Bergendahl. Both were really great when they took part in the past and I’m expecting some great quality from their songs. Mendez, Felix Sandman and Dotter were part of the 2018 mello class and now they’re back again, hopefully with great and better songs. At least I really hope Dotter will ace it this time.

Ellen Benediktson is also back to get some revenge after she was robbed from qualifying in 2015 while Hanna Ferm and Mohombi make a fresh comeback after obtaining great results in 2019. Overall I’m really happy with this line-up, it seems to be strong and competitive, just like a decent Melodifestivalen should be (remembering 2016 & 2017). To make things even better I will most likely attend my first Melodifestivalen LIVE from Gothenburg in early February next year. More about this to be revealed soon.

Good luck to all of the participants and may the best song win. I hope that for 2020 Sweden will finally send a female act because if we’re really honest, it’s been a while since we’ve seen a great woman holding the flag for Sweden at Eurovision. Lycka till, Sverige!
