It’s finally time to start my new blog section entitled “Yummy Stuff”. This yummy section will contain lots of my personal recipes that I use almost daily, some of them really easy to prepare while others can be quite complex, depending on the amount of kitchen experience that you have.
If you want to spoil yourself with a delicious and a perfect soup for cold and unforgivable weather, the red lentil soup should do the trick. A really delicious and easy to make recipe, the red lentil soup is super healthy and contains ingredients that are rich in protein and vitamins.
Time to prepare it:
Step one: wash the red lentils in as many waters as you can, until the last water is fully clean. Cut the celery and half of the onion and put it to boil together with the red lentils. Remember to add at least 1 liter of water, depending on the amount of red lentils, you can add more. They will constantly grow and if you want a thick soup, it’s better to add water even after it started boiling. Add a spoon of olive oil to the boiling pot.
Step two: cut the sweet carrots in small pieces and also the other half of the onion and the garlic. Heat up a pan with a bit of olive oil or natural butter and then add the chopped garlic and the onion. Gently steer it up until you see a nice golden color on the onion. Add the fresh tomato broth and steer it up in the pan.
Step three: add the content of the pan in the boiling pot by mixing it very good. Now it’s finally time to play with the taste of the soup by adding salt, pepper and a bit of paprika. You can add different ingredients at this stage, depending on your taste.
Step four: When the soup reached a nice consistency (remember that you can add additional water if you want it to be more thick), remove it from the stove. It’s time to bring the big toy to play with. Use a nice vertical-mixer to mix up your soup. Make sure you mix it sufficient enough in order to cut all the other small pieces.
Aaaand voila! Your soup is done. You can serve it with some nice croutons that you can prepare in the oven with a bit of olive oil plus some spices. Remember to add the parley on top of each serving for a nice view. Bon apetit! 🙂
