Alright, so here we go again. Do you remember all those moments when you said that this is your last “cheat day” and that starting from tomorrow you will get all vegan, healthy, perfect and whatsoever? That was me..several times in the past few years. I had many (and by many, i mean MANY) tries to start a whole new life-style which sadly failed, all of them. Hopefully not this year because I feel like I’m determined like never before to lose those extra kilos that haunted me for several years now. Everything starts with a strong desire to change and make that change your life-style, like it’s something normal and something that you HAVE to do daily and not because you just want to lose some weight. Being healthy nowadays is probably the biggest luxury someone can have since we’re surrounded by so much unhealthy and processed food and it’s basically impossible to eat 100% healthy because there will always be THAT product which contains nasty stuff.
My journey started almost three weeks ago after spending one great evening with two my of my friends. We went out and at the end of that day we ate at a fast food restaurant, and after that I told to myself that “Ok, this has to stop”. Now, after almost three weeks of healthy home-made meals and a little bit of exercise I feel amazing and more determined to learn how to live healthy and start loving myself and my body because that is really important and it’s a part of who we are.
Cooking is not an easy thing, especially if you want to prepare healthy meals. You always have to be careful from where you buy your ingredients and obviously, the amount of protein your body actually needs in order to perform well every day. My focus is on changing the life-style and not necessarily on losing weight, but as I’ve seen from the past few weeks, weight loss comes along with it, slowly, but it does. I’m happy that with my changes I feel that I can inspire other people to do it as well and the overall process comes in way more easier when you see the actual results. It’s too early to brag about results though, when I’ll reach two months, I’ll make sure to write about it and reveal how many kilos have been lost on the way (even thought this is NOT the purpose of it).
Everything starts with determination. After following Annie Jeffrey (who inspires me a lot), I’ve decided to purchase my first blender through which I can get extremely healthy smoothies every morning. The smoothies that I prepare daily help me with the amount of energy that I need for that day. Eating healthy doesn’t imply the fact that you eat ‘ew food’, that’s a big lie, you can make extremely delicious meals using only healthy ingredients. With the following weeks to come, I’ll share some of them with you, some are my own recipes while others I’ve stolen from different websites and obviously my research continues every week. Until next time, #stayhealthy. 🙂
