The most important thing about travelling in general is ensuring that you have the best option regarding how to reach your destination. A lot of people nowadays travel by plane but it’s not always easy to find the cheapest flights. Today I will be sharing some of my secrets when it comes to travelling by plane. My record is the time when I flew to Sweden + return flight with less than 30 euros.
Early booking is a must!
The first rule when planning to fly to some place is to always book your flights at least one or two months in advance. Life can be quite unpredictable and you don’t know what could happen before your trip starts. This is a risk that you always have to take in order to fly smart and on a budget.
You can use different fare finders to discover the cheapest flights, both Wizzair & Ryanair have these fare finders that are not always practical but they can be useful if you don’t have a lot of time to find your flights. Whenever I try to plan a trip, I am using kiwi.com, a specialized/free fare finder that helps you discover flights all over the world with different periods of time and even on a specific budget. You can search flights with a specific date range which is super useful if you know when exactly you’re planning to take a well-deserved vacay. Every time you search something on Kiwi, they will also show you an interactive map where you switch destinations and find even cheaper flights. This is probably my favorite feature on their website. Thanks to Kiwi.com, I was happy to buy my flight tickets to and from Santander, Spain for less than 35 euros for March, next year.
Safety booking comes first!
When you decide to buy your tickets, make sure that you buy them straight from the main airline’s official website. It’s not like I don’t trust the fare finders but it’s better to have your tickets managed by the airline’s website than any other fare finder due to possible hidden taxes. You should also be aware of the huge taxes from the really cheap airline’s mentioned above. Always read info about luggage and do your check-in on time. With other words, you just need to get the information from them and then run to the official airline’s website and buy your tickets.
Next time, I will write about accommodation and how to find the best one in different circumstances. Stay tuned! 🙂
