Mercy, France!

Oh here I am again, late with everything and finally posting something. I thought about many things to write about but sadly time is extremely limited and I barely find some for myself. It doesn’t matter now, today I will be talking about the French National Selection which was a total blast. I never, ever, thought that France will finally take this contest seriously and so they did with this amazing national final (which is by far the best of 2018 so far). The quality of their songs and the ending was perfect. I have seen both semifinals and the grand final live with my friends. My favorite song has won even though I thought that Lisandro will take it to Lisbon. I just hope that Madame Monsieur (the winners) will obtain a well deserved top 5 place in the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest in May this year. It was a huge step to skip internal selections and go with a national final instead and for that reason thumbs up for France and for their amazing HoD, Edoardo Grassi, who is probably responsible for everything. The only thing I didn’t like so much was the idea of international juries which was a bit inspired from other national selections and shocking enough, some “important” names (ahem Bjorkman) in the Eurovision industry trying to sabotage the winner. I just hope that they won’t be using him in their next national selections, you don’t need him, no one does.

Overall, well done France. I’m super happy that I will be finally rooting for you in the Final and I just can’t wait to hear Mercy live again. Until next time!
