Romania announces candidates for Selectia Nationala

It’s been a long period for fans in Romania and a total of 72 songs were debated whether they deserve to qualify or not in the Semifinal of Selectia Nationala 2017. There are a few great songs and I’m happy that almost all my favorites (3/4) qualified in the selection. I think Romania will do a great job this year unless voting goes cray cray again (2015) and we end up sending the wrong song. The jury will get to pick 10 lucky finalists on a live show broadcasted on 26 February and then the public will have the final say in the Grand Final on March 5th.

Sadly, when it comes to televoting, artists that have a strong fan-base are most likely to win since Eurovision is not yet that popular in Romania. The jury was probably removed due to the endless issues we had in the past few years (our golden Luminita Anghel getting ZERO points in 2013 from one of the jury members or the f**ked up jury that choose only circus songs in 2014😡). In order to avoid these kind of issues from happening again, they probably went for 100% televoting in the Final which is not necessarily a good thing. Apparently Romanians love corruption (not only in politics) and we’re basically not even able to select a song to represent our country without having interests and stuff like that (Hej Sverige, here I come!💚)…maybe the solution of this issue is to have an international jury and in this way maybe we can finally do something about this situation (take notes from SVT, TVR).

I’m keeping my fingers crossed for my favorite songs and hopefully Romania will make a decent come-back to the Top 10 this year and damn we so deserve it after the humiliation we endured last year. #GoRomania #nouw30daychallenge continues!
