Erasmus Diary 03: European Music Quiz

This week was great. Everything started with me skipping my Management exam on Monday because I wasn’t able to wake up on time due to many sleepless hours (all caused by that evil snoring my roommate has). Thankfully the exam can also be taken next week so there wasn’t a big deal that I skipped it. On Tuesday, ESN organized the second European Music Quiz (music guessing game) aaaand as shocking as it may seem, I actually wanted to skip it because of my Human Resource Management exam on Thursday. Dormitory friends are amazing though and they did their best to convince me and join the music battle once again.

On my first music quiz last month, my team (the DaDaFlows) managed to score the second place (yas, not nice 😱) and we were beaten by Slovenia’s team with 2 or 3 points between us. It’s fine. I was happy with our result anyway (yea’ sure).

On our second quiz though, I said that I’m just gonna enjoy the game and music and I won’t be focusing on the competition (for those who know me, well, yeah 😁). The game started with a short delay and we were on! Sadly, one of our team members wasn’t able to join again so I teamed up with three beautiful German girls and we were ready to kick ass.

For my surprise, this time we had more Eurovision songs (I absolutely slayed) and I think we managed to guess around 90% of them (oh yas!). I just remember the joy I had every time a Eurovision song was on. The results were about to be revealed and ten teams waited for their results. We managed to enter Top 3 and after we found out that we were in a close race (again) with Slovenia’s team…I started to freak out. “Geromany” (which is us: Germany + Romania) won the game with a total of…well I don’t remember the exact number of points but I know we slayed Slovenia’s team with 5 points difference.

It was such a fun night and I’m really happy I enjoyed every second of it. As for my Human Resource exam, I scored a perfect 5 and I still managed to go to the music quiz party as well. Christmas is almost here and my final two exams are next week. On 24 December we’ll be travelling to Zagreb to spend Xmas there.

P.S: We found this crazy restaurant in the middle of nowhere that serves amazing pancakes. Check the photos below. Yum! 😍😄

Growing up in a small city, I never thought I would get the chance to travel the world, yet dreams can always come true. You just need to be dedicated, passionate, and always eager to try new things and never step away from being yourself.
